The Xsemble ecosystem can grow when such reusable components are shared freely. Here is a small contribution from Acism in terms of some repositories of some reusable components.

Reuse saves development and testing costs, improves accuracy and cuts time to market.

Because Xsemble components are assembled rather than copy-pasted, a component can be used and re-used across applications without any change.

How to Use the Reusable Component Repositories

Download the repository bundle and open the demo projects to explore reusable components.

Repository Bundle

Each download bundle contains:

  • Reusable component repository
  • Demo projects
  • Additional components required by the demo projects
Configuration
  1. Download and extract the ZIP file.
  2. Make the folder available from the WORKSPACE folder defined in xsemble.properties.
Option 1
Extract the ZIP directly into the WORKSPACE folder.
Option 2
Extract elsewhere and create a soft link inside the WORKSPACE folder.
Remove any existing folder or link with the same name before performing either option.
Developer's Workbench

Open File → Open.

A new top folder will appear containing at least two repositories:

  • components — reusable components
  • demo — additional components required for demos
Assembler's Workbench

Open File → Open.

Multiple small demo projects will be available. Open them to explore one or two reusable components, then burn and run the projects.

No. Component implementation code stays on your own machine and is never sent to the Xsemble cloud. Selected components can also be exported as test bundles, so remote developers can work on isolated components without exposure to the rest of the application.

Yes. Within the boundaries of a component, a developer has flexibility to use a leading UI framework such as Angular, React or VueJS, or plain programming on the web side. On the backend, any database can be used — an RDBMS like MySQL or a NoSQL database like MongoDB — along with third-party APIs or libraries in the usual way.

No. The application sources generated by Xsemble's Burn step consist of the complete source code of the target application, in a standard language such as Java or PHP. Development can continue from there at any point of time, though you would forego the additional benefits of staying with the Xsemble design.
