In India, the Engineering education is broken. Every year the system produces more and more graduates without any practical knowledge. Incubation centers within colleges gather dust. Industry complains about a big gap between what students know and what is required in the industry.

Computer Science and similar branches are the most preferred branches of Engineering in India. Many students from other branches also aspire for IT careers. But computer education is also marred with the same challenges. The lack of expertise affects the employability of the students negatively. The employability is an important metric for colleges to attain better ranking, build a better brand and to woo new admissions.

1. Practical Education

• Complete absence of practicals. Students do not have the technical expertise to get a job or start a freelancing business.

2. Research

• The amount of research, the number of papers published from a college also counts into their accreditation.
• Pain: The quality and quantity of research that goes on within colleges is low. Publications in non-reputed journals do not amount to much.

3. IT Assets

• The availability of hundreds of students in each batch is a tremendous amount of unused energy that is available to a college for free. It can be used for creating IT assets at college level.
• Pain: The availability of the students workforce on one hand, and the need for IT assets on the other, have not been matched before.
• Position: Acism can work with the institute to show them a way how the vast number of students may be used to their advantage, to build IT assets. These assets may be used for internal consumption, consultancy or research. Moreover, the value of these assets would grow exponentially.
